Baxter Keith Stevens
January 2, 1967 - March 9, 2018
Baxter Keith Stevens, 51, of Grahn Road, Olive Hill, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born January 2, 1967, in Ashland, the son of Ruick Elwood and Helen Adkins Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Baxter is survived by his wife, Dovie Carter Stevens, whom he married July 31, 2008; mother- and father-in-law, Johnny Austin and Linda Carter; brothers-in-law, John "JB" Carter and Evan Meyer; sister-in-law, Stacey Meyer; niece, Addi Meyer; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; his beloved English Bulldog Buddah; countless friends; and decades worth of West Carter High School Comets. Among his closest friends were the West Carter faculty and staff and his beloved Comets teams' leaders, several of whom are listed under pallbearers. Add to that his current and former students and players and the list is too numerous to name. It would be easier to compile a list of people who did not know and love Baxter than a list of those who did!
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Evan Meyer and the Rev. Johnny Austin Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Roar Cemetery in Grahn.
Pallbearers: Jeff Roe, Greg Reynolds, Chris Perry, Jeremy Webb, Bradley Walker, Judd Maddix, Kevin Brown, Zach Stevens. Honorary Pallbearers: Special friends Roger Dunfee, Stan McGlone, George Kiser; brothers-in-law, John "JB" Carter and Evan Meyer.
Visitation was 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests if you would like to contribute to Baxter's memory, "Put a ball in the hands of a kid."

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
