Wilma Kiser Durham, 88, of Grayson, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1929 in Grahn, KY, a daughter of the late George and Ethel Crawford Kiser.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bert Durham, a daughter, Debbie McDavid Green, a son, Johnny Bert Durham, great-grandson, Rodney Dolin Jr., sisters, Pauline Sparks, Maxine Burton and Pearl Alexander; brothers, Donald Ray Kiser and Al Kiser; nephews, Larry Sparks and Terry Kiser; nieces, Bobbi Jo Hall and Sandy Kiser.
Wilma was raised in Grahn, KY, a graduate of Olive Hill High School class of 1947. She then married and moved to Grayson, KY where she raised her family. Wilma mainly worked in the retail business, and has worked at the family owned Wilma's Dress Shop since 1987. Wilma was a Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking all of their favorite dishes. She collected antiques with a special interest in glassware and China. She had a keen eye for fashion with a vast collection of hats, shoes, purses and jewelry. Wilma was a generous and giving person; she contributed to several organizations and funds that she held dear to her heart. Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grayson; she enjoyed attending Sunday services, church events, and reading her bible daily.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne (Avery) Ferguson, her grandchildren, Renee (Rodney) Dolin, Ryan (Stephanie) McDavid, Courtney (Stephen) Holbrook, Corey (Andrea) Ferguson, her great-grandchildren, Miranda Dolin, Jacob and Jace Holbrook, Wyatt, Hayden and Ava McDavid, and her great-great grandson, Zayne Reardon and several niece and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
Visitation was Friday, May 12, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial followed in the Biggs Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SIDS foundation.
