Walter Vernon Evans, 58, of Olive Hill went to be with his Lord Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born March 22, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio a son of Theodore and Loretta Duncan Evans of Olive Hill.
Walter was a member of the First Christian Church in Olive Hill. Walter was an employee of Kentucky Electric Steel having worked there for over 20 years. Walter was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Walter always put his family first and they were the love of his life.
Including his parents Walter is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan Stamper Evans; two sons, Kyle Ray Evans and Michael Ryan Evans; a daughter, Emily Tyra Evans all of Olive Hill; three sisters, Debra Evans of Olive Hill, Lisa (Robin) Whitt and Karen Evans-Stead both of Winchester, KY; and a brother, Robert (Amelia) Evans of Grayson.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at the Jr. O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill with Terrell Webb and Marshall Steinle officiating. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Monday at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson and after 9am until 10:30 am the procession time Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Kyle Evans, Ryan Evans, Tim Stamper, Mike Stamper, Robert Evans and Donnie "Peanut" Boggs, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Pelfrey, Walter Matthew Evans, Robin Whitt, Glen Sparks, Carl "Bud" Stamper and Tony Harris.
