Vivian McCoy

Vivian Lorraine McCoy, 95, formerly of Grayson, most currently of Clinton, TN, went to be with our Lord on the morning of Dec. 4th, 2016. She was preceded in death by parents, Ray Woods and Lula Houck Woods, her loving husband of 60 years, Verne Joseph Harold McCoy, brothers, Earl Woods, Ralph Woods, and Roy Woods, and sister, Maggie Woods Thompson. She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael W. McCoy, brother, James "Jimmy" Woods, sister, Helen Woods Kitchen, grandchildren, Michael S. McCoy (wife: Jennifer McCoy), Julia M. Thomas Ward (husband: Darrell Ward), Michael V. McCoy, great-grandchildren, Candice Garrison, Cristen McCoy, John McCoy, Nichole McCoy, Markie Hicks, Noah Thomas, Cayden Thomas, Trysten Ward, McKenzie Queener, Joshua Ward, Jacob Ward, Caleb Ward, and great-great-grandchildren, Madison McCoy, Abby Patterson, Lukas McCoy, Ian Garrison, and Cadence Garrison. She was also loved by extended family and friends, but most importantly by Bonnie Mynhier, Patsy King, Patty Skaggs, Tempest Holbrook, Ruby James, and Marie Westfall. She was born in Lawrence County, a graduate of Webville High School, Webville, and attended Morehead State Teacher's College in Morehead. Her hobbies were singing, cooking, gardening, and collecting hen memorabilia (based on her favorite childhood pet, her "Blue-eyed Bitty). However, most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother "great and great-great" who will be incredibly missed and always remembered."
The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 from 12-1PM with the funeral service to follow at 1:00PM with Rev. Jess Ward officiating. Vivian's interment will follow her funeral service at the Sunbright Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in charge of these arrangements.
