Virginia's Story

Virginia Pauline Burke Waggoner, 85 of Grayson went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Virginia was born August 5, 1932 in Denton a daughter of the late William Herbert and Charity McWhorter Burke. She was a homemaker and attended Grayson First Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul E. Waggoner; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kim Waggoner; great-granddaughter, Carys Kitchen; three brothers, John Burke, William Burke and Donald Ray Burke; five sisters, Nora Keyes, Joyce Berry, Hattie James, Pearl Swartzwelder and Dorothy Farmer. Her survivors include; two sons, Paul Randy Waggoner and John Mark Waggoner both of Grayson; one daughter, Pamela Joy (Michael) Kitchen of Grayson; seven grandchildren, David Kitchen, Aaron (Keri) Kitchen, Jason Waggoner, Dana (Josh) DaBella, Lesley (Braun) Lowery, Jennifer (Phillip) Stephens and Steven (Kim) Waggoner; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday 2:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Waggoner, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
