Virgie Mary Nease, 99, of Olive Hill, entered into rest Friday Feb. 27, 2017 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born Aug. 22, 1917 in Grayson, a daughter of the late Walter Landon Rice and Mary Katherine Manning Rice. Virgie was a homemaker, avid sports fan following University of Kentucky basketball, San Francisco 49er's Football and NASCAR. She was a Granny and aunt to everyone in the community. She was of the Christian faith, being baptized at Porter Creek many years ago.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband of 30 years Lon Nease in 1978; a son, Walter Landon Nease and a son-in-law, Sherman Bud Craft,Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon L. Daniel (Kenton Ray Adams) of Olive Hill, and Charlotte Nease of Lucas, OH; grandchildren, Teresa Lynn Craft, Bud Junior Craft and Ivy Ann Craft; great-grandchildren, Davis Wayne Cole Jr., Steven Aaron Cole, Kriston Danielle Cole, Chelsey Nicole Craft, Cameron Bud Craft, Matthew Burgess, special cousins Donna June Owens, Kathern Marie Jones and Deloris Gay Jones.
In addition to theses she is survived by a host of relatives and friends that mourn her passing.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday March 2, 2017 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in the Rice Cemetery at Jacobs.
Visitation will be 6-9 PM Wednesday March 1, 2017 and after 8:00 AM Wednesday March 2, 2017 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service 149 Whitt Street Olive Hill, KY 41164
