Mr. Vernon David "Dave" Skaggs, age 62, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning, July 11, 2019, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born December 22, 1956, in Grayson, Kentucky, a son of Robert Louis and Janet Carper Skaggs of Carter City, Kentucky.
Dave was a member of the Stinson Church of Christ and he worked in construction. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Skaggs and one nephew, Joshua Burnett.
Dave is survived by his wife of 22 years, Toni DeCurtis Skaggs; one son, Rodney Skaggs (Donna) of Ashland, Kentucky; one daughter, Alisha Skaggs of Grayson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Caleb Skaggs, Connor Skaggs, and Colton Hayes; one brother, Bobby Skaggs (Peggy) of Grayson, Kentucky; one sister, Mary Burnett (Mike) of Grayson, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, MaDonna Skaggs of Grayson, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Keith Sargent and Brother Mike Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Horsley Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019, and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.
Rick McGlone, Ike Oakley, Mike Carper, Steve Wolfe, Bob Johnson and Charlie Sammons will serve as pallbearers.
