Mrs. Venus Biggs Gee, age 91, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 23, 2016 at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born Sept. 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Edna DeHart Biggs.
Venus was a member of the Globe Christian Holiness Church for over 50 years. She loved going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Gee; four brothers, Champ Biggs, Roy Biggs, Eugene Biggs, and Jimmie Biggs; three sisters, Lorraine Kegley, Helen Haworth and Shirleen Hedge; and one son-in-law, Paul Wilson.
Venus is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sandy Gee of Bluffton, South Carolina; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patty and Carl Stamper, and Kathy Wilson, all of Olive Hill; six grandchildren, Dana and Randy Kerns, Josh and Sun Stamper, Elizabeth Stamper, Roby and Alison Gee, Jason Wilson, and Becky Griffith; four great grandchildren, Kody, Noel, Samuel, and Aurora; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Gail and Pauline Biggs of Ashland; one sister, Sue Kiser of Olive Hill; one brother-in-law and his wife, Chubby and Lois Gee of Melbourne, Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Dora Gee and Ginny Gee, both of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the Globe Christian Holiness Church in Olive Hill, with Brother Frank Hulett, Brother Dale Collinsworth, Brother Clyde Holbrook, and Pastor David Rayburn officiating. Burial followed in the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends visited from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the Globe Christian Holiness Church in Olive Hill.
Roby Gee, Jason Wilson, Josh Stamper, Randy Kerns, Butch Kegley, and Jeff Kiser served as pallbearers. Darrell Gee, Robert Gail Biggs, Amos Maddix, Talmadge Rayburn, Luke Wilson, and Keith Newell served as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Venus' memory to Community Hospice in Ashland, Carter Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund in Grayson, and Globe Christian Holiness Church in Olive Hill.
