Vada Lou Carpenter Jones McCoy
Mrs. Vada Lou Carpenter Jones McCoy, age 85, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday evening, March 15, 2020, at her residence.
She was born February 12, 1935, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Richard Allen "Allie' and Lutie McBrayer Carpenter.
Vada was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church and worked at Cowden Sewing Factory. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, going to church, visiting and talking with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Frank McCoy; one son, David Michael Jones; four brothers, William Allen Carpenter, Edward Carpenter, Harry Carpenter and Richard Allen Carpenter; and three sisters, Florence Bellew, Eunice Boggs and Janice Burton.
Vada is survived by two sons, Herbie Jones (Theresa) and B.J. Jones (Barb), all of Olive Hill; two daughters, Michelle McCoy and Linda Owens (Bryon), all of Olive Hill; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several special sisters-in-law. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Pastor Rick Crank officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning #1 Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
