Mr. Tommy Joe Roar, age 60, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland Kentucky.
He was born June 27, 1957, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Melvin and Nadith Hall Roar.
Tommy was of the Unity Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, working on cars, being with his wife, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Roar and Sam Roar and two sisters, Nellie Caudill and Betty Hall.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Blevins Roar; two sons, Michael Roar (Rebecca) of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Tommy Roar of Grahn, Kentucky; one daughter, Amber McGuire (Seth) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Madison Roar, Paisley Roar and Jacob McGuire; two brothers, David Roar (Rosemary) of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Danny Roar (Brenda) of Dayton, Ohio; and one sister Dorothy Humphries (David) of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Dewayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll - Nelson Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
