Mr. Tex Roger Garris, age 64, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at his residence.
He was born May 18, 1953 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Dewey and Della Henderson Garris.
Tex enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren Ryder Garris, Robert Blake Garris, and Josie McCleese; two brothers, Charles Garris and Dee Garris; and one sister, Donna Kiser.
Tex is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jody Dean Garris; three sons, Tex Robert Garris (Sarah) and Tommy Lee Garris, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Christopher Paul Garris of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Carrie Opal Garris of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three step sons, Samuel McCleese (Lisa), Joey McCleese (Brianna), and David McCleese, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one step daughter, Veronica Perry of Greenwich, Ohio; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; nine step grandchildren; and two sisters, Sue Carter (Garland) of Alliance, Ohio, and Brenda Garris (Rick) of Grayson, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
At the family's request there will be no visitation or service.
