Ruth's Story

Ruth May Pauley Marshall of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Ruth was born Jan. 4, 1928 in West Virginia a daughter of the late John Q. and Pearl M. Thomas Pauley. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Altha Kirk and eight brothers, Duard, Clayton, Tommie, Rodney, Robert, Kermit, Harold and Jimmy Pauley.
Ruth retired as a Manager of Kinney Shoes in Portsmouth, OH after 24 years of service. Ruth was the wife of George Marshall of Grayson. They were married on Jan. 5, 1968 at Davis Creek Church. During their marriage, Ruth and George lived at various locations due to military service. They lived in Boston, MA, London, England, Ellwood City, PA, Howe, IN, New Port Richey, FL, Wheelersburg, OH, Teays Valley, WV and finally home in Grayson.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by three children, Darlene Marshall Fleming of Lexington, Angela Marshall (Keith) Sparks of Grayson and Kevin R (Cam) Marshall of New Port Richey, FL; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Pauley of Big Chimney, WV and one sister, Janet Pauley Baire of Brounland, WV.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Pastor James Harris, officiating. Burial will be at Alum Creek, WV. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at Malone Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the Marshall Family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
