Robert Lee "Bob" Bishop Sr.

Robert Lee Bob Bishop Sr. Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" Bishop Sr., age 79, of Rush, passed away Friday afternoon, March 1, 2019, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born April 23, 1939, in Carter County, a son of the late Oval and Lydia Newman Bishop.
Robert was of the Christian faith. He worked as a meat manager for Ralph's Food Fair in Grayson, and retired from Gene Case's Superior Foods in Olive Hill. Robert enjoyed playing music, fishing, staying home, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Bishop Jr., and five brothers, Oval Bishop Jr., Jack Bishop, Jim Bishop, Earl Bishop, and Joe Bishop.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlene Duncan Bishop; one son, Rick Bishop of Rush; one daughter, Roberta Barnsdale (Kevin) of Fort Myers, Florida; three grandchildren, Nicole Wade, Connor Bishop (Lakin), and Sarah Henry (Jarrad); four great grandchildren, Londyn Wade, McKinley Bishop, Jacob Henry, and Hannah Henry; and one special nephew, Greg Bishop (Lisa) of Grayson. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, with Brother Lester Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Jr. O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Greg Bishop, Howard Duncan, Steve Duncan, Robbie Roar, Christian Gavan, and Billy Duncan will serve as pallbearers.
