Phyllis Perry

Phyllis Holbrook Perry, age 89, of Denton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2017, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Denton, where she lived during her childhood and adult years. She enjoyed spring and summer days looking at her flowers and siting outside under her willow tree. She especially enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren when they came for a visit. She attended Denton Missionary Baptist Church and Straight Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Holbrook and Esther Burke Holbrook and is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Perry, her son Charles Perry, and her sisters, Alta Rogers and Elma Perry.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel and Sandy Perry of Rockyface, GA., Roger Perry of Denton, and Randall and Brenda Perry of Ashland; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Shirley Holbrook of Denton; Six grandchildren, Brian Perry (Suzette) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., Renet Baker (Vince) of Cohutta, GA., Michael Perry (Sharah) of Cohutta, GA., Kimberly Burton (Farron) of Morristown, TN., and Melinda Lanier (William) Rockyface, GA. William Perry, Ashland; 12 great-grandchildren and 7great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. A special mention of her son and caregiver, Roger Perry, who gave most of his life serving and caring for both of his parents and is a great example of the scripture verse: Exodus 20:12 Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Lloyd Miller and Adam Harris, officiating. Burial will be in the McHenry Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 6-9pm and Monday after 9:00 a.m. until service time at Malone Funeral Home. Condolences can be made to the Perry family at
