Mr. Phillip Lee Carroll, age 71, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born November 4, 1944, in Carter County, a son of the late Johnnie and Faye Bledsoe Carroll.
Phillip was of the Baptist faith and he proudly served in the National Guard. He loved listening to bluegrass music, playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Juanita Bryant and two brothers, Donald Carroll and Harold "Todd" Carroll.
Phillip is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Ann Carroll of Olive Hill; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Matt), Katrina (David), Martikki (Kyle), Courtney (Cody), and Brooklyn; three great grandchildren, Leon, Christopher, and Whitney; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dennis and Alita Carroll of Buxton, North Carolina, Roger and Shirley Carroll of La Grange, Ohio, and Rex Bledsoe of Elyria, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Terry Dickerson of Grayson, and Janice and Joe Sabol of Jacksonville, Florida; and a special friend, Kendra Valandingham of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Jim Carroll and Brother David Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Barker Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Rick Heaberlin, Ronnie Rose, Donnie Callihan, David Perzioso, Tim Wilburn, and Steve Carroll will serve as pallbearers.
