Mrs. Pauline Porter Stephens, age 79, of Grayson, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2016, at the home of her daughter.
She was born March 26, 1937, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Russell Porter and Pearl Kitchen Bentley.
Pauline was of the Missionary Baptist faith and worked as a care giver for many years. She loved camping, watching U.K. Basketball games, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, June Porter; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Rhoda) Harper; and nephews, Jack Harper and Duane Bradley.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 58 years, Curtis Stephens; one daughter, Kathy (Randy) Riffe of Grayson; three grandsons, Randall (Natalie) Riffe, Ryan (Allison) Riffe, and Ryker Riffe, three great grandsons, Tate, Rylee, and Tanner Riffe; one brother, Chester (Minnie) Harper of Grayson; four sisters, Elizabeth (Arnold) Bradley of St. Louis, Missouri, Rosemary Lee, Bonnie Felty, and Jane (Gary) Tackett, all of Grayson; and 19 special nieces and nephews she loved dearly, which includes her niece Jamie (Darrell) Harlow that lovingly served as her personal nurse during her illness and a nephew Jim (Jill) Bentley she loved as her own. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Pastor John Lybrook officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter Memory Gardens in Grayson.
Friends can visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, and until the service hour on Friday at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.
Randy Riffe, Randall Riffe, Ryker Riffe, Ryan Riffe, Jim Bentley, and John Harper served as pallbearers.
