Paul's Story

Mr. Paul Middleton, age 62, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018, at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1955, in Carter County, a son of the late Sam and Grace Burton Middleton.

Paul was of the Christian faith and worked until his retirement for American Steel in Alliance, Ohio. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, going to auctions, and listening to music, especially Hank Williams Jr. Paul was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He was one of a kind and actually enjoyed helping others. Paul wrote several poems, and had one of his poems published.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion of 10 years, Christine Bertram; one brother, Earcil Middleton; three infant brothers; one sister, Deloris Davis; and one infant sister.

Paul is survived by three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Argus and Maxine Middleton of Mansfield, Ohio, Ruffus and Faye Middleton and Vernon and Bonnie Middleton, all of Olive Hill, and Louise Middleton of Alliance, Ohio; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lorene and Willard Thomas of Homeworth, Ohio, and his twin sister, Paulene Witherspoon of Alliance, Ohio. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and his "little buddy" Harley McGlone who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Pastor Jack Vernatter officiating. Burial will follow in the Binion Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Kyle Jordan, Darrell Turner, Darrell Turner II, Ray Middleton, Bear McGlone, and Mike Middleton will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Vanetter, Sam Middleton, Billy James, and Jeff Messer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
