Mrs. Oney Bago Goodan, age 90, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at her residence.
She was born July 1, 1927, in Logan County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Ethel Porter Bago.
Oney was of the Church of God faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and embroidering in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Beckham Goodan; one great grandson, Jarrod Lawhorn; four brothers, Willie Bago, Everett Vago, Alfred Bego, and Billy Bago; and two sisters, Nadine Johnson and Ernestine Johnson.
Oney is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Joan Goodan of Olive Hill; two stepsons, Phillip and Ruth Goodan and Raymond and Dotsie Goodan, all of Olive Hill; one stepdaughter, Barb Lemmons of Solan Springs, Arkansas; one special granddaughter, Treasa Goodan of Olive Hill; several granchildren; several great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Dora Vego of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Rex Sagraves and Pastor Larry Joe Ruley officiating. Burial followed in the Stegall Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Visitation was from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the funeral home.
Brett Goodan, Jesse Goodan, Jason Goodan, Johnny Bowling, Ronnie Roberts, and Charles Johnson served as pallbearers. Timmy Goodan, Allen Goodan and Jeffrey Sloan served as honorary pallbearers.
