Mrs. Nellie Walker Dailey, age 92, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday morning, July 11, 2016, at the Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Lexington.
She was born April 21, 1924, in Grahn, a daughter of the late James Hiram and Bertha Alice Knipp Walker.
Nellie was of the Christian faith and a member of the First Christian Church of Olive Hill. She was co-owner and operator of Dailey's Jewelry Store in Olive Hill. Nellie enjoyed sewing, writing, and arts and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Arthur Elwood Dailey; one infant daughter; one brother, Marcus Walker; and three sisters, Gincy Dickison, Maude Wilburn, and Myrtle DeBord.
Nellie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Elwood and Deborah Dailey of Lexington, and Marty Allen and Barbara Burns Dailey of Richmond; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Talmadge DeBord of Grayson. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Dave Shanklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
