Myra's Story

Mrs. Myra Janet Sartaine, age 83, of Olive Hill, passed on to Heaven on Feb. 6, 2017, at her home.
She was born in Olive Hill, on Jan. 23, 1934, to Ora Jack Waggoner and Myra Margaret Sparkman Waggoner, both of Olive Hill.
Myra Janet was a lifelong resident of Olive Hill where she was very actively involved in the community. She graduated from Erie School as the valedictorian of her senior class, was a Christian all her life and a member of Christ Community Church in Olive Hill. Myra Janet and Bill were gasoline distributors in the Olive Hill area for many years. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were the center of her attention, raising horses, and gardening. She was a member of Olive Hill Eastern Star where she was worthy Grand Matron. Myra Janet was a great wife, mother, and friend to anyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, William H. "Bill" Sartaine.
Myra Janet is survived by two sons, Bill Sartaine (Trina) of Elliott County, and Jeff Sartaine (Sherry) of Ashland; one daughter, Susan Dawn Sartaine Erwin (Dan) of Olive Hill; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was blessed with three wonderful caregivers for the last few months of her life, Bonnie Bowling, Mona Barker, and Roxanne Kegley. Myra Janet also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Scott Caulley and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery on Route 2 in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
