Ms. Minnie Deloris Barker Lawhorn, age 85, of Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Albert and Mandy Mosier Barker.
Minnie was a member of Unity Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to church, reading, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Barker, Albert Barker Jr., and Willard Barker; one sister, Avenell Smith; and three sons-in-law, Johnny Mosier, Lee Burchett, and Pete Duncan.
Minnie is survived by five daughters, Patricia Burchett, Shirley Jarvis (Herald Lowe), Shelia Duncan, Bernita Lowe (Ronnie Lowe), and Karen Mosier (Chris Binion), all of Olive Hill; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Raymond Huntsman of Olive Hill; and one nephew whom she raised as her own, Clifford Carroll. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Jimmy Barker and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, and until the service hour on Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
