Mrs. Marjorie Irene Holter Mickelson, age 68, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday afternoon Nov. 5, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clifford Eugene and Myrtle Louise Smith Holter.
Marjorie was of the Christian faith and attended the Old Oakland Christian church. She graduated from Rowan County Technical College with a degree in Medical Technology and retired from St. Claire Regional Medical Center. Marjorie loved gardening, going to church and visiting with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifford and Lena Holter.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of five years, Larry J. Mickelson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Marie and Joe Woods of Olive Hill, and Carla Jean and David Horton of Grandview, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Jesse Leigh Blevins, James Edward Foard, Nicholas Eugene Foard, Shane Michael McInerney and Gabriel Ian Horton, one great grandson due in Feb. 2017; one brother and sister in-law, Richard and Debbie Holter of Canal Winchester, Ohio; one uncle, Larry and Mary Holter; one special aunt, June Ashley; and one special cousin, Keith Ashley . She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at the Old Oakland Church in Olive Hill.
