Mrs. Lynda Higgins Porter, age 69, of Olive Hill, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Aug. 8, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Ontario, Canada, a daughter of the late Charles and Alcona Harris Higgins.
Lynda was of the Freewill Baptist faith and worked as a beautician for many years.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Willard Porter; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Rhonda Porter of Hueytown, Alabama; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy Hobbs of Birmingham, Alabama, and Peggy and Tom Carmichael of Garrettsville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Keith Hobbs, David Hobbs, and Sean Hobbs, all of Birmingham, Alabama; one great grandchild, Hayden Hobbs of Birmingham, Alabama; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle and Samuel Kirk of Strafford, Missouri, and Charlotte and Daniel Boling of Terre Haute, Indiana. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Kenneth Leroy Dodrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Lynda's family will serve as pallbearers.
