Lucy Fay Grizzell Maxie Sexton


Mrs. Lucy Fay Grizzell Maxie Sexton, age 69, of Hitchins, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at her residence.

She was born November 27, 1949, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Burl and Hazel Margret Seagraves Grizzell.

Lucy was a member of the Hitchins Freewill Baptist Church and she loved singing and spending time with her family, especially with her godchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Cova Grizzell.

Lucy is survived by her husband of 12 years, John Sexton; one daughter, Rhonda Sue Griffith of Grayson; two godchildren, Samantha Fay Gray and Kelsey Rae Stambaugh; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one twin brother, Jackie Ray Grizzell of Grayson; four sisters, Sarah Caudill of Grayson, Merry Kelly of Ottawa, Illinois, Dean Rush and Bev Short, both of Columbus, Ohio; two special nieces, Tonya Seagraves and Dawn Blevins; one great niece, Rylann Blevins; and two great nephews, Brett Seagraves and Dalton Seagraves. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, with Brother Keith Hill and Brother Dana Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup.

Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019, the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
