Mrs. Lucille Knipp Oney, age 90, of Flemingsburg, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 31, 2017, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.
She was born March 15, 1926, in Friendship, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Watson and Bertha Lee Duncan Knipp.
Lucille was of the Christian faith and retired from Olan Mills Studio's as a consultant. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Ermal Oney; one son, Rodney Dale Oney; four brothers, Charles R. Knipp, William O. Knipp, John D. Knipp, and Joseph Knipp; and two sisters, Gertude Knipp and Margaret Knipp.
Lucille was survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Oney Swinford and Doc of Flemingsburg; two grandchildren, Cyndi Adkins of Flemingsburg, and Jesse Swinford of Grayson; six great grandchildren, Kaylee Jo, Rylee Dale, Adyson Lucille, Hunter Alan, Jenna Joplin and Ermal Avery; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Knipp of Richmond, Indiana. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, with Brother Josh Layne and Brother Joe Ruley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Carter County.
Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, and until the service hour on Monday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
