Mr. Lowell Thomas "Smiley" Middleton, age 61, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday morning, December 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born April 22, 1956, in Carter County, a son of Rose Edna Middleton of Olive Hill.
Lowell proudly served his country in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He worked until his retirement as a truck driver for Olive Hill Trucking and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Lorraine Estepp Middleton; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Nathan Dummitt of Olive Hill; three grandchildren, Sarah Marie Fraley of Ashland, Kaden Thomas Fraley and Patryk Adam-Rylee McDowell, all of Olive Hill; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene and Doug Hunt of Morehead, Mary and Frank Slone of Canton, Georgia, and Charlotte and Rick Kiser of Olive Hill; and a special uncle, Clayton and Faye Middleton of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother William Logan Jr. and Brother Andy Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Middleton-Estepp Cemetery in Olive Hill, with full military honors presented by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the funeral home.
Cliff Estepp, Ronnie Estepp, Tommy Estepp, Otis Estepp, Kaden Fraley, Charlie Sammons, and Steven Sammons will serve as pallbearers.
