Joseph Pelfrey Jr., age 59, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday afternoon, December 8, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1958, in Carter County, a son of the late Joseph Ponder Pelfrey Sr. and Anna Laura Davis Pelfrey.
Joseph worked until his retirement for Globe Hardwood and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, joking with his friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Pelfrey, and four sisters, Dorothy Terry, Mary Pelfrey, Barbara Brickles, and Montenia Pelfrey.
Joseph is survived by three sons, Jamie Pelfrey of Morehead, Wes Pelfrey and Zackary Lawhorn, both of Olive Hill; one daughter, Trista Pelfrey of Olive Hill; five grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel "Doc" Pelfrey and Russell Pelfrey of Soldier; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Polly and Oshal Johnson and Marie Braden, all of Soldier, and April Skaggs of West Portsmouth, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Pelfrey Family Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with his nephew, Chris Johnson officiating.
