Johnnie Allen Smith
Johnnie was loved and adored by so many. Anyone who ever knew him described him as the most artistic genius and amazing soul they ever knew. His smile lit up any room and he always was able to make anyone see and feel their absolute most outstanding and glamourous version of themselves. From a very young age, Johnnie had an artistic eye for anything he came in contact with. He could change a room, an ensemble, or a person with a few minutes with his magical, creative touch. He attended Eastern Kentucky University, followed by the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Johnnie traveled across the country as well internationally, creating costumes for Broadway musicals such as Cats and Starlight Express. He was employed by Pierre Cardin Kids as well as other retail agencies but mostly self employed as a designer of anything beautiful. From clothing, furniture, a house, room, painting, a bench, garden, flower, and the list goes on, he could create a masterpiece. Anything he touched looked as if it had been turned into gold.
He is survived and cherished by his parents, Clyde and Wanda Smith, sister and brother-in-law, Shannon Leigh Smith-Stephens and Recole Stephens, niece and nephew-in-law, Rhiannon Hope and Austin Greer, great niece, Adley Hope Greer, and beloved fur babies, Duchess Grace and Oscar P.
Johnnie was preceded in death by a younger sister, Miss Kimberly Renee Smith, grandparents, Roy and Mabel Stevens and Clarence and Ada Smith Henderson, as well as a host of other family and friends.
A piece of our soul was taken when Johnnie left this Earth on Thursday afternoon. Johnnie will always be in our hearts and a piece of him and the beauty he created can be seen most anywhere you look, throughout the world.
