John Allen Ruggles


Mr. John Allen Ruggles, age 79, of Olive Hill, went to be with his Lord, Monday evening, April 29, 2019, at his residence.

He was born February 6, 1940, in Monroeville, Ohio, a son of the late Glenn and Virginia Mitchell Ruggles.

John was a member of Open Fork Tabernacle and was a life long farmer. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, going to tractor pulls, working on his farm and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Pat Ruggles and Donna Ruggles; one son, Tommy Ruggles; and one daughter, Cathy Oney.

John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kelli Fisher Ruggles; four sons, Randy Ruggles (Karen) and Jim Ruggles, all of New London, Ohio, David Ruggles (Suzanne) of Greenwich, Ohio, and Corey Shepherd (Susan) of Independence; two daughters, Terrie Yeager (Steve) of Carrollton, Ohio, and Kaitlyn Coddington (Michael) of Palmyra, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, with two on the way; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Ruggles (Jane) of Ashland, Ohio; two sisters, Karen Everhart (Bill) of Delaware, Ohio, Dorothy Chappelear (Bill) of Talmadge, Ohio; and one aunt, Arlene Smith of Willard, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Kenneth Mauk officiating. Burial will follow in the Parsons Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, and after 9 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Kel, I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. He is at peace now, rejoicing in his saviors arms and reuniting with all who went before him. I will keep you all in my prayers. I love you.
