James "Jimmy" Douglas Kelley, 77, of Hitchins, KY, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his residence. Jimmy was born March 31, 1940 in Carter County, KY a son of the late Wayne and Minnie DeHart Kelley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Sword Kelley; five sisters, Mary Addie White, Vella Lee Royster, Doodle Louella Tackett, Ava Sue Stone and Olena Sexton; and four brothers, Jack Kelley, Bomar Kelley, Amos Kelly, and Charles Vernon Kelley.
Jimmy was a US Army veteran who served his country honorably. Jimmy worked as a auto mechanic and as a drywall installer. Jimmy loved spending time outdoors hunting and taking care of his garden.
Jimmy is survived by his companion of 23 years, Emma Vivian Hall Kelley; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Monday, December 11, 2017 at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Joe Hutchison officiating, with Military Honors . Cremation will follow services. Visitation was held Sunday from 6-9 pm. Condolences can be made to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
