Mr. Jeffery Scott Hollingsworth, age 54, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2016, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Jan. 17, 1962, in Carter County, a son of Nelma Jean Morgan Hollingsworth and the late James Robert "J.R." Hollingsworth.
Jeffery was a member of the Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle and worked for several years as a Beautician in Olive Hill until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing music, singing and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Lee Hollingsworth.
Jeffery is survived by his mother, Nelma Jean Morgan Hollingsworth of Olive Hill; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Karen Hollingsworth, Keith and Renea Hollingsworth, all of Olive Hill, and Robin and Debbie Hollingsworth of Winfield, West Virginia; and one sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Randy Binion of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle in Olive Hill, with Jeffery's brother-in-law, Brother Randy Binion and Pastor Ed Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Bentley Cemetery on Cave Road in Olive Hill.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at the Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle in Olive Hill, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
Jeffery's niece and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Hub and Kara Johnson and Jay Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
