Mr. James Byron "J.B." Henderson Sr., age 71, of Westerville, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at his residence.

He was born August 4, 1946, in Carter County, a son of the late Leslie A. and Myra Sue Fielding Henderson.

J.B. was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill. He was a 50 year member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge # 629 where he was a 32nd degree mason, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Olive Hill Eastern Star Chapter 290. J.B. retired from Pipeline Local Union # 798 as a welder and loved fishing, UK sports, watching westerns and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rachael Underwood; one grandson, Derek M. Underwood; and two brothers, L.A. Henderson Jr. and Marty Henderson.

J.B. is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Holbrook Henderson; one son, James Byron "Jake" Henderson Jr. of Lexington; one daughter, Stacy Wright (Bob) of Westerville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Adam Wright, Jade Henderson, Solomon Underwood, Rebecca Wright, Kennedy Underwood, Joseph Wright and Alexander Underwood; two brothers, Brent Henderson (Sandi) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Greg Henderson (Vickey) of Olive Hill; one son-in-law, Jerry Underwood of Georgetown, Ohio; one special aunt, Alice Fielding of Olive Hill; one half brother, Nathan Henderson of Lexington; one half sister, Leslyn Spaulding of Mt. Sterling; and two sisters-in-law, Fran Henderson and Louise Henderson, both of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 with Brother Bob Donavan officiating at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Burial followed in the Brown Cemetery on Mushroom Hill in Carter County.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 and after 9 a.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. A Masonic service was conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

David Kidd, Marcus McCleese, Michael Burge, Allen Wilson, Gary Brown, and Jeff Wells served as pallbearers. Ronnie and Bette Greenhill, Les and Elaine Pitts, and Clifton and Emma Throneberry served as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in J.B.'s memory to Pipeliners Voluntary Fund, P.O. Box 470798, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74147-0798.
