Mr. James Levi Cook, age 84, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 20, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Grahn, a son of the late Gould and Bead Phillips Cook.
James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as a Telecommunications Engineer. He loved his wife and enjoyed taking evening walks with her, caring for his animals and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Cook.
James is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Jean Crawford Cook; one grandson, Michael Cook (Candace Waugh) of Olive Hill; one step granddaughter, Jatonda and John Ousley of Olive Hill; two great grandchildren, Kaiden Adkins and Brayden Adkins of Olive Hill; and two step great grandchildren, Courtney Bond and Tayton Ousley. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Mike Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill, with full military honors presented by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, and until the service hour on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
