Mr. Isom Michael Kinney, age 86, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 21, 1930, in Pikeville, a son of the late Willard and Angline Kinney.
Isom proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from private security. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Jay Kinney; four brothers, Ervin Kinney, Grant Kinney, Millard Kinney, and Ralph Kinney; and one sister, Marie May.
Isom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris Henry Kinney; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Diana Kinney of Morehead, and Ronnie Kinney of Olive Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Wesley Conn of Morehead; and four grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Elijah Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill, with full military honors presented by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
