Imogene's Story

Mrs. Imogene Bailey Tackett, age 88, of Grayson, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017, at her residence.

She was born September 15, 1928, in Grahn, a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha Alice Wilson Bailey.

Imogene attended the Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working word search puzzles and spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jack Allen Tackett; one great grandson, Carson Jack Puckett; three brothers, Shirley Bailey, Ercel Bailey, and Junior Bailey; and four sisters, Marjorie Williams, Avanell Bailey, Juanita Bailey, and Nadine Bailey.

Imogene is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd Allen and Linda Tackett of Grayson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary and Charles Utley and Bobbi and David Puckett, all of Grayson, and Becky Tackett of Ashland; four grandchildren, Raymond Utley and Chad Utley of Grayson, Kyla and Cory Blevins of Ashland, and Taelor and Marcy Puckett of Morehead; four great grandchildren, Daniel Utley and Eli Utley of Raceland, Bailey Utley of Greenup, and Nate Blevins of Ashland; one step great grandchild, Hailey Wolfe of Greenup; and one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Roy Passmore of Orleans, Indiana. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, with Brother Rob Baier, Brother Jim Varney, and Brother William Waddell officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery in Grayson.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Raymond Utley, Chad Utley, Taelor Puckett, Cory Blevins, Daniel Utley, and Eli Utley served as pallbearers. Kyla Blevins, Bailey Utley, Nate Blevins, and Marcy Puckett served as honorary pallbearers.
