Hobert Allen McGlone Sr.

Mr. Hobert Allen McGlone Sr., age 63, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday evening, May 13, 2017, in Olive Hill.

He was born July 30, 1953, in Carter County, a son of the late Artis and Maxine Burton McGlone.

Hobert worked as a farmer and enjoyed going on vacation to the beach, riding his golf cart with Carolyn, eating Carolyns home cooked meals and spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Robert Lewis and Delbert Reisinger; one niece, Natisha Lewis; one nephew, Kevin Lewis; and one brother, Artie McGlone.

Hobert is survived by his wife of 7 years, Carolyn Sue Sparks McGlone; one son, Hobert Allen McGlone Jr. of Olive Hill; three daughters, Elizabeth Hogge of Greenup, Kim Layne of Olive Hill, and Stephanie Ball (Rodney) of London; nine grandchildren; one brother, B.J. McGlone of Olive Hill; and five sisters, Josephine McGlone (Robert) of Piketon, Ohio, Edna Lewis of Vanceburg, Ida Belle Newman (Eddie) of Taylorsville, Georgia, Leah Gustin (Craig) of Beaver, Ohio, and Diane Rodgers of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bill Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlone Cemetery on Hobert McGlone Ridge in Olive Hill.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, and will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Colton Hogge, Coty Rodgers, Jonathan Newman, Kevin McGlone, Brandon McGlone, Rodney Ball, Tom Callihan, Matt Owens and Trey Allen McGlone will serve as pallbearers.
