Mrs. Helen Erwin Seagraves, age 74, of Richmond, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
She was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie Jackson Erwin.
Helen was of the Southern Baptist faith and worked as a School Teacher for the Madison County School System. She enjoyed teaching, arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Scott Seagraves and Don Seagraves; four brothers, Donald Ray Erwin, Ernest Erwin Jr., Joe Erwin, and Tommy Erwin; and three sisters, Lenora Kelly, Wilma Wells, and Margaret Ann Oakley.
Helen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bennie Seagraves; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Hernandez of Toledo, Ohio; three granddaughters; and four great granddaughters. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, with Brother John Lambert officiating. Burial followed in the McFarren Cemetery on State Route 3298 in Olive Hill.
Friends visited from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, 145 Gearhart Street, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
