He was born January 4, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Lennie Marcum Tolliver Bailey and John "Dee" Tolliver. He was employed with Consolidated Freightways of Columbus, Ohio, as an over the road truck driver. Harold was awarded the "One Million Miles Safe Driving" award during his career.
Harold is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susie (Alexander) Tolliver, who will miss him terribly. He also leaves behind his daughter, Nina Tolliver (fiancé, John Sheetz); daughter-in-law, Denise Tolliver; granddaughters, Ashley (Dustin) Frye and Kaylee Tolliver; great-grandson, Jayden Lee who arrives in May 2019; brother, William Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Vernon "Jeff", Eugene, Darrell, John and Charles Tolliver and Ronnie Wells; five sisters, Alice, Helen and Esta Mae Tolliver, Maxine Arms, and Janice Greenhill; and his son, Harold "Lee" Tolliver.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Avenue Church, 1756 Park Avenue West, Ontario with additional visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Nate Hulit and Harold's nephew, Bart Alexander Jr. will conduct the service. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Avenue Church Building Fund, 1756 Park Avenue West, Ontario, Ohio, 44903.
