Mr. Fred Bond, age 69, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 17, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of the late William Donald and Gracie Reeves Bond.
Fred was of the Christian faith and retired from the Ashland Local Union # 132. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Fred Bond II; three brothers, James Bond, Garland Bond, and Larry Bond; and three sisters, Betty Bond, Louise Haas, and Geraldine Bond.
Fred is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Slone Bond; one son, James Brian Bond of Olive Hill; one daughter, Rebecca Bond Winkleman of Morehead; six grandchildren, Ashley Bond, Mary R. Bond, Samantha Bond, Haley Winkleman, Lakean Bond, and Logan Winkleman; one great granddaughter, Myla Ruark; one brother and sister-in-law, Estel and Lois Bond of Mansfield, Ohio; and two sisters, Linda LaRose of Ezel, Marilyn Geese of Englewood, Florida. He leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Jared Deatley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, and until the service hour on Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
