Mr. Everett Herbert "Babe" Lawson, age 82, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 20, 2016 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born July 19, 1934, in Carter County, a son of the late James "Buck" and Nannie Callihan Lawson.
Everett was of the Christian faith, and attended the Henderson Branch Christian Holiness Church, he was retired from General Refractories in Olive Hill and Hitchins Kentucky. Everett also enjoyed farming, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Infant Jackie Lawson and Johnny Lawson.
Everett is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glandowyne "Glenda" Valandingham Lawson; one son, Keith Lawson of Olive Hill; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, James Lawson, Phillip Lawson, and Tommy Lawson all of Dayton, Ohio, and Dennis "Pod" Lawson of Kettering, Ohio; and one sister, Mary Farr of Morehead. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Jason Johnson and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, after 5 p.m. on Thursday September 22, 2016, and until the service hour on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
