Mrs. Eva Mae Carroll Smith, age 86, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 8, 2017, at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky.
She was born June 25, 1931, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late George Washington and Jessie Cox Carroll.
Eva was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed going to yard sales, dancing, going shopping and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Smith; one brother, Raymond Carroll; and two sisters, Marcella Carroll and Lena Stout .
Eva is survived by three sons, Howard "June Bug" Smith of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Kenneth Smith of Olive Hill, Kentucky and George Smith (Chastity) of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters, Wanda Davis and Judy Jordan both of Middletown, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one brother, George Randy Carroll of Jackson, Ohio; and four sisters, Jewell Davis of Pedro, Ohio, Eunice Seagraves of Ashland, Kentucky, Eula Rogers of Pedro, Ohio and Sue Arthur of Gallipolis, Ohio. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Charles Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery on Horton Flatts in Elliott County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 and after 9 a.m. Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
