Elza Oscar Bond
Mr. Elza Oscar Bond, age 93, of Avon Park, Florida, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away February 12, 2020 at his residence.

He was born March 23, 1926, in Carter County, KY, a son of the late Morton & Arlie Tackett Bond.

Elza was faithful to his church, the Church of Christ in Christian Union, in Avon Park. Even in his declining years he never missed a service. He was a World War II Veteran. Elza was known for his practical jokes, was an avid hunter, threw a mean horseshoe and ruled the shuffleboard court. He dearly loved his family, his many friends & especially his grandchildren. He was dearly loved and respected by all and set a Godly example for generations to follow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 66 years, Louise Hall Bond, three brothers, Romie, Jack and Carl Bond, three sisters, Delphia Green, Virginia Bond, Barbara Stanley and a daughter, Linda J. Bond.

Elza is survived by one son, Thomas M. Bond, Columbus, Ohio. Two daughters, Judy E. (Bill) Morris of Mountain City, TN, Diana S. (Gary) Constance of Lebanon, OH; nine grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other family members, church family, and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Phil Green and Brother J.C. Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with full military honors presented by Olive Hill American Legion Post # 138.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020, Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Mr. Bond will lie in state from 10 a.m. till service hour at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
