Elma's Story

Elma Gay Maggard, 77, of Worthington, formerly of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at her residence. Elma was born Oct. 16, 1939 at Willard, a daughter of the late Harlan and Opal Blankenship Pennington. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Mayo and a brother, William "Buddy" Pennington.
Elma was formerly employed at Grizzell's Market, Tri-State Para medicals and Maggard's Market. Her survivors include: her husband, Jack Maggard of Worthington; one daughter, Patricia "Trish" (Newt) Lewis of Worthington; one sister, Carolyn Sue (Eugene) Seagraves of Willard; grandson, Corey Maggard of Grayson and a great grandson, Harlan Maggard of Grayson. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Delmar Rogers, officiating. Burial was in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 22 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday after 9:00 a.m. until service time at Malone Funeral Home.
