Mr. Elijah Triplett, age 65, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday morning, April 27, 2017, at his residence.
He was born July 19, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Herbert and Ella Annette Waugh Triplett.
Elijah was a of the Baptist faith and worked as a coal miner for Piston Coal Company. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Geraldine Henderson Triplett; one son and daughter-in-law, Elijah Triplett Jr. and Stephanie Triplett of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother and sister-in-law, Herbert Triplett Jr. and Kay of Ferrelsburg, West Virginia; and one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and James Tracy of New Jersey. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial followed in the Barricks Cemetery in Rowan County.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, in Olive Hill.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
