Ms. Dottie Lou Barker, age 63, of Grayson, passed away Thursday morning, June 16, 2016, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born May 6, 1953, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Pennington Barker.
Dottie was of the Christian faith and retired as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at White Hall Nursing Home in Michigan. She enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, listening to country and bluegrass music, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John Ross Justice; one grandchild, Kyle Holbrook; three brothers, Bob Sturgill, June Barker, and Gus Barker; and one sister, Patsy Eldridge.
Dottie is survived by her fiancé, Conrad McDavid of Morehead; three daughters, Gypsie Hardy (Chris Burnett) of Grayson, Anna Holbrook (Jon), and Karlie Holbrook (James) all of Olive Hill; and one sister, Linda Sue Knipp of Grayson. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, with Brother Keith Hill officiating. Burial followed in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery in Grayson.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, and until the service hour on Sunday at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.
Jon Holbrook, Patrick McDavid, Mike Grimmit, Conrad McDavid, Joe Adkins, and Chris Burnett served as pallbearers.
