Mrs. Doris Ellen Rose Henderson, age 89, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday Morning, June 4, 2016, at the Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
She was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ollie Hockensmith Rose.
Doris was the oldest member of the Henderson Branch Christian Holiness Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzles, attending church services, and singing for the Lord. Doris asked all of her family and grandchildren to be nice, kind, loving, and to receive Jesus in their heart so they can meet her in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Coy Lee Henderson, and two brothers, Leroy Rose and Kenneth Rose.
Doris is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Henderson, and Martin and Paula Henderson, all of Lawrenceburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judith and Paris Porter of Olive Hill, and Clyda Henderson of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, James Walter Rose of Sumner, Washington; and one sister, Francis Stamper of Mansfield, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Martin Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Cemetery on Smith Run in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 and until the service hour on Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Jeff Calihan, Tim Brown, Trae Fern, Jim Henderson, Scott Brown, James Gilkison, and Jeff Stark will serve as pallbearers.
