Mr. Denny Lowell Harris, age 76, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday morning, July 7, 2017, at his residence.
He was born November 12, 1940, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Bessie Pendlum Harris.
Denny was a Deacon at the Upper Flat Fork Church of Christ and retired from General Electric after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Bullitt Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. # 155 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, since 1975; and the Sons of the American Legion Post # 138. He enjoyed going to church, family gatherings, and loved visiting with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Shelby Harris and Kenneth Harris, and one sister, Nellie Gilliam.
Denny is survived by his wife of 16 years, Elizabeth Jo "Betty" Leake Harris; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sherry Denise Hubanks and Roger of Savannah, Tennessee, Natalie Nerissa Harris and Jawana Lynn Keen and Ronald, all of Louisville, Kentucky, and Chantal Dawn Tucker and Matt of Bardstown, Kentucky; two step-sons, David Noel Lee and Leann of Springboro, Ohio, and Roy John Lee and Jennifer of Columbus, Ohio; four step-daughters, Janese Marie Brooks and Richard, Annamarie Schum, Trisha Jo Lee, all of Xenia, Ohio, Beth Ann Williams and Charles of Sardinia, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lloyd Harris of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Carlos and Mildred Harris of Grayson, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Jack Grizzell officiating. Burial followed in the Harris Cemetery on Flat Fork in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164. A Masonic service was held at 7 p.m. Monday evening.
Denny's grandsons served as pallbearers.
