Mr. Dennis Ray Jarvis, age 56, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday morning, January 15, 2018, at Boyd County Nursing Home in Ashland.
He was born May 25, 1961, in Rowan County, a son of Anna Lee Sammons Seagraves of Olive Hill, and the late Hobert Eugene Jarvis.
Dennis was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed volunteering his time to the Shriners, where he played Santa Claus during the Christmas holidays. He was always willing to give a helping hand and loved joking and laughing with people.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Esteline Sammons.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Terry Porter and William Tom and Earlene Jarvis, all of Olive Hill; and two sisters, Debbie Boggs and Tempie Bailey Tussey, both of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, with Brother Marcus McCleese and Brother Edd Porter officiating. Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at the funeral home.
Josh Jarvis, Thomas Stickler, Phillip Lowe, Scotty Jarvis, and Mickie Nolen served as pallbearers.
