Mr. David Michael "Mike" Phillips, age 65, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, June 24, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born July 25, 1950, in Carter County, a son of the late Herndon Day and Margaret Newell Webb.
Mike was a retired truck driver and enjoyed riding and racing railbuggies, and especially spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera McCleese and Wanda Yonts.
Mike is survived by one son, Scott Clark of Grayson; four daughters, Margaret Stamper (Mitchell) of Olive Hill, Kawanda Hensley of London, Rebecca Stevens of Olive Hill, and Melanie Fannin (Brian) of Ashland; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Timmy Garvin (Margaret), and Allen Garvin, all of Olive Hill, and Roger Garvin (Sheila) of Texas; three nieces; and five nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Mike Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Newell Cemetery in Grahn.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, and until the service hour on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
