Ms. Darlene Michelle Viars Kelsey, age 50, of Morehead, passed away Sunday evening, May 7, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born December 24, 1966, in Crestline, Ohio, a daughter of Dora Lambert Viars of Olive Hill, and the late Junior Viars.
Darlene was of the Christian faith and she enjoyed camping, boating, caring for people, going on adventures, and spending time with her family. In her spare time she loved reading and writing poetry.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her fiancé of eight years, Charles Kelsey; two daughters, Christy Dailey of Morehead, and Tiffany Eden of Olive Hill; three grandchildren, Jaden Starcher of Olive Hill, Paul Dailey of Morehead, and Johnny Tyler Ray of Olive Hill; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Greg Viars of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Jeff Viars and Tuie and Robert Viars, all of Olive Hill, George and Janell of Dallas, Georgia, and Leslie Vairs of Morehead; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathy and Jammie Wilburn of Grayson, and Cheryl Holbrook of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery on Smith Run in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Greg Viars, George Viars, Robert Viars, Leslie Viars, Charles Kelsey, and Chris Kelsey will serve as pallbearers.
